World-class customer service is more than just satisfying the customer with every call, though this is vitally important. It is an attitude of service that permeates an entire team. It is saying “We are here for you”. It is refusing to be interrupted during a customer call; it is obtaining additional information that may be useful to the customer when on a mission to provide an answer; it is projecting sincere concern for the success of the customer’s business; it is knowing that if we don’t do our part, the customer’s business will suffer; it is expecting excellence from each other and ourselves; it is having product knowledge, business knowledge, personal knowledge and being able to integrate all three into an outstanding customer service representative, which makes for an outstanding customer service team. It is all this and more.
